Parameswara Vasudevan

–

Hamilton Township, New Jersey

Parameswara Krishnan Vasudevan, 78, passed away peacefully in Trenton, NJ on April 23, 2026 surrounded by his three children.

Born in Kerala, India in 1947, PK, or Vasu, as he was known to his friends and family, immigrated to the United States with his family in 1979. He established a highly successful accounting firm and finally retired in 2025. Throughout his career, he helped people build small businesses and companies locally and across the globe. A lifelong learner and educator, Vasu taught business and accounting courses at Rider University and Mercer County Community College for a number of years. He was also a prominent and well-respected member of the Indian American community in New Jersey, taking on leadership roles at both religious and cultural organizations.

Vasu’s joys numbered many. He approached the world around him with curiosity, disappearing into the worlds of books and especially delighting in the insights of the human condition found in epic histories and biographies. He was transported by music of all kinds, and just as easily found appreciation in sanskrit prayers and Zakir Hussain’s tabla as he did in the music of Springsteen and the soundtracks of musicals. He was enamored of nature, and frequented the walking trails of his beloved Mercer County Park, often going on walks with friends and loved ones and marveling with them at the ordinary sights and sounds.

Above all, Vasu enjoyed being with his family. He and his brothers spoke by phone daily discussing the day’s events, big and small. His heart was fullest at family gatherings where he spent time talking with his nieces and nephews about anything and everything, on topics ranging from politics to space travel to the next generation’s antics. He was a dedicated grandfather (their Thatha), who loved to get on the floor and play and build with his grandchildren. He was a loving father, who never stopped telling his kids how proud he was of them and instilled in them his love of learning and teaching.

Parameswara Krishnan Vasudevan is survived by his children (Lalitha, Veena, Krishna) and their mother (Subhalakshmi), his sons-in-law (Matt and Alan), grandchildren (Sabine, Kiran, Navin, Luca, and Bodhi), his brothers (Raju, Viswam, Padma, Sekhar, and Ram), and their families. He is predeceased by his parents P. Krishnan and P. Lalitha.

Funeral services for PK Vasudevan will be held at Lester Memorial Home on Monday April 27th with viewing hours from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.

Funeral Arrangements are under the respectful care and direction of Funeral Director, Christine Cuoco of Lester & Ruby Memorial Home. Family and friends may share memories on PK’s Memorial Page at www.lestermemorialhome.com.
