Marvin Howell

–

Franklin Township, New Jersey

We celebrate the life of a charismatic, funny, humble, and loving man, Marvin Leonard Howell, born on February 14, 1962, in Newark, NJ. Marvin was a beacon of laughter, love, and humility, illuminating the lives of those around him with his sense of humor, unwavering love, and modest nature.

An experienced truck driver and talented saxophonist, Marvin was a true embodiment of dedication and passion. Marvin was a lifelong Giants fan, and he enjoyed playing the lottery every day, visiting the casinos, and playing dominoes. But his greatest joy was found in the company of his family and friends. He was a pillar of strength for his mother, Lorene Howell, and his wife, Raisa Howell, whom he married on October 17, 2022. Marvin was a funny and humble man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. Despite the challenges life threw his way, Marvin's faith in God, love for his mother and wife, and his humble spirit never wavered.

Marvin was the backbone of his family and friends. He took pride in his flooring business, TMAR Flooring, named after his son. His father, Douglas Howell, left him the business, and Marvin ensured his legacy lived on.

Marvin is survived by his mother, Lorene Howell, his wife, Raisa Howell, his brother, Derrick Howell, his children, Tramar Howell, Leny, Rachel, and Yagenesis, and his siblings, Sharron, Candice, and Latrecia, and Lynne, as well as his close family friends Greg and Pete. His close-knit circle of friends, Daryl, George, Buck, Tyjun, and himself, were inseparable since childhood. They worked various jobs together, played music in a band, and shared countless memories. Tyjun, the last man standing from the original five and will undoubtedly carry on their legacy of friendship. Marvin is predeceased by his father Douglas Fairbanks Howell, his brother Melvin and nephew Chris.

Marvin's life was a testament to the power of love, humility, and friendship. He dedicated his life to serving others, sharing laughter, and spreading love. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
