Jose Gomez, Md Obituary (1949

Dr. Jose Gomez, 65 of Helmetta died Tuesday March 11th at his home. Born in New York City, he lived in Cuba and then Elizabeth for 2 years before moving to Helmetta in 1994. Dr. Gomez was employed as a Hab Counselor at UMDNJ, Piscataway for the past 15 years. He was a graduate of the University of Havana Medical School. He was a congregant of St. George's Anglican Church, Helmetta. He was predeceased by his parents Jose and Lydia (Velasquez) Gomez and his brother Ricardo. Surviving is his wife of 18 years Cynthia Nalavany, his children Amelia, Eva and Lydia Gomez, his brothers Hector and Moises and his sister Amelia. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday March 14th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday 8:30-9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Newark.
