Dorothy (Kucharski) Mikolai Obituary (1930

Dorothy (Kucharski) Mikolai 87 of Jamesburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday November 19th at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. Mikolai was born in Jamesburg and was a lifelong resident. She was a devoted wife and mother of 58 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, shopping, playing the accordion, piano and organ, playing croquet at family picnics and trips to Atlantic City or PARX casinos. She was renowned by her family for her yearly "Singing Happy Birthday" phone calls. Raised on Pergola Avenue, she was a member of the "OUR GANG," which she always said were more than neighbors; they were family. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Walter, her mother Lucy "Cook" Kucharski, father Frank, brothers Eddie, John and Ted and sisters Mary, Helen and Jane. Surviving are her three daughters Donna of Old Bridge, Brenda O'Callaghan and her husband Bill of Ewing and Lucy Ann of Crosswicks, her sister Lucy Romano of Edison, three grandchildren Billy, Patrick and Rebecca, three great grandsons, nieces, nephews, a special niece, friend and companion Stephanie, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Services will begin 9 a.m. Saturday November 25th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. James RC Church, Jamesburg. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Monroe Twp. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Saturday 8-9 a.m. at the funeral home.
