Denman "Buddy" Powers Obituary (1940

Denman E. "Buddy" Powers, 74 of Spotswood, died Thursday May 7th at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Paterson, Mr. Powers lived in Monroe Township for over 30 years before moving to the Clearwater community in Spotswood 2 years ago. He was employed for several years as a truck driver for J.B.Hunt Trucking Company, East Brunswick. Previously he owned and operated the Chevron gas station in Helmetta. Mr. Powers was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War and a member of Spotswood Memorial V.F.W. Post #4589. He was an active parishioner of Holy Trinity RC Church, Helmetta. He was predeceased by his wife Lottie Szabunia Powers in 2011. Surviving are his two sons Denman B. of Jackson and William of Drake, CO, his daughter Amy Powers of Jackson, his half-brother Denny Powers of Philadelphia, PA, his six grandchildren T.J., Tristan, Gavin, Brody, Makenna and Delaney and his companion Judith Lena of Spotswood. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday May 11th at Holy Trinity RC Church, Main St., Helmetta with burial of Mr. Power's ashes to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Monroe Township. Visiting hours for family and friends will be 8-9:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
